{Wallpaper Wars} Soleil vs. Shimmer Collection

Time for another installment of wallpaper wars! {By the way, I'm not a very big fan of the word war - so my hope is to turn it into something fun and non-violent.} Which wallpaper collection gets your vote? Both collections - unique, different and equally special - can be found at Crown Wallpaper and Fabrics. The first is the Soleil Collection, full of bright, girly and playful patterns. You'll love this if you're fond of soft, feminine cheer and floral prints. The second is the Shimmer Collection that features contemporary designs on non-woven paper. This choice is for those who perhaps like more sophisticated choices with modern trails and geometric patterns. The Soleil Collection is by Wallquest, Inc. and the Shimmer Collection is by Printers Guild Productions. Which one wins the war in your eyes? Happy Monday, everyone!

{Wallpaper Wars} Graham and Brown ~ Frames or Crowns: Take Your Pick!

Images via Graham and Brown

It's time for Wallpaper Wars again! Graham and Brown is one of my favourite stores for wallpaper goodies. Not only do I love their designs but I'm also a fan of their grassroots approach to business and how they support young designers and creative professionals. This installment of wallpaper wars features two entirely different designs from G&B. Which one do you prefer? Is it the playful frames wallpaper that adds an element of fun and whimsical to your space? What's cool about this design is you can actually interact with it and decide how you want to utilize it. Do you want to put up pictures and artwork that your kids created? Or how about paint directly on the frame? It's up to you! Or do you like the regal crowns and coronets wallpaper? Jewels are attached directly on the paper so it almost comes to life in front of your eyes. Perfect for the King or Queen inside of you. So with two completely different choices, which one gets your vote? Happy Friday!

Wallpaper Wars ~ Perfect Spring Wallpapers from York Wallcoverings

 1. Alessa     2. Bengali   3. Fontaine

Check out these 3 wallpapers from York Wallcoverings, perfect for incorporating spring-like energy into your space. Which one is your favourite? Is it Alessa, with it's bright colours and modern, clean lines? Nothing says Spring more like butterflies and green leaves; plus the burst of yellow and blue tones is enough to make anyone smile. I chose Bengali because of its design based in nature. It would look especially stunning as a feature wall. Finally, the more subdued Fontaine has somewhat an artisan feel. The colour is calming and soothing and it's less attention grabbing than the first two. I'd love to hear your comments and thoughts. Have a beautiful Thursday!

Swarovski Elements Wallpaper Collection

"Beauty is like an empty chamber: once discovered, it is to the artist both inspiration and canvas."

(A special thanks to Robin DeGroot for showing me this collection.) I'm sure you've heard of SWAROVSKI crystals, but did you know that the same company has their own line of wallpaper? That's right, folks! The elegant and opulent Swarovski company has made their presence in interiors and home decor. Luckily for us, they've still kept their decadent tastes. The collection, simply titled SWAROVSKI Elements, was designed by British wallpaper designer Karen Beauchamp in collaboration with the company's in-house design team. Why I love this collection in particular is because it pushes the boundaries and turns magnificent design concepts into a wallpaper reality. The collection boasts the finest crystal elements that are manufactured by Swarovski shown on "backgrounds of exquisite flock, mirror-like foil and layered ink (thus giving the effect of metallic leather"). Not only is the colour of the wallpaper rich and beautiful but it's also shimmery and glittery. The light - which bounces across the wall - is refracted by the multifaceted colored crystals. Although the wallpaper is more costly than some (obviously since it's adorned by crystals! Hello!) I would recommend using it as a feature wall -- as shown in the photographs. You can easily make a statement by using a small piece of the wallpaper. Or you can always go big or go home. What do you think of Swarovski's dabble in design? What piece of wallpaper is your favourite?

Fine Fabrics: Martyn Lawrence Bullard for Schumacher collection

Bright and colouful inspiration for the weekend: Designer Martyn Lawrence-Bullard has created a line of fun, flirty and luxe fabrics for Schumacher in vividly bold colours with a bohemian twist. These fabrics are very "of the moment". Plus, they're the perfect inspiration for spring due to their bright hues and eye-catching fabrics. If you're looking for ways to make a statement on drapes or upholstery -- look no further! Martyn was inspired by his travels to exotic locations like Morocco, Turkey and India. I also like this collection because you can mix-and-match the fabrics. Don't be afraid to select your favourites and go crazy! Like the image above with the couch filled with cushions and canopy draped above. It shows fabric on top of fabric on top of fabric ... but looks stunning! What look is your personal favourite (and thanks for Canadian House & Home for the inspiration!)
